Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 leak shows its 18:9 screen and dual camera

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 has been leaked in images. The images show a vertical dual camera setup at the back just above the fingerprint scanner. And is rumored to have a minimal bezel front along with a metallic back finish. It will boast a 5.5-inch display running on an 18:9 screen ratio.

Xiaomi was far ahead of the game when it came to premium bezel-less phones like the Mi Mix series, but it hasn't really ventured into the affordable 18:9 market sector that so many of its Chinese rivals have embraced. The talk of the town is the 18:9 display and dual rear cameras on the Redmi Note 5, and today's leak almost confirmed both these rumours.

Speaking of its specifications, Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is said to be powered by a MediaTek Helio P25 octa-core processor, 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. Besides the regular model, there would be another variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The phone will be backed by a 4000mAh battery that can be charged via a Type-C port.

Other rumored specs include Android 7.1 Nougat with a layer of MIUI 9 on top, 4G VoLTE support, GPS, USB Type-C, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fiac. The report also claims that the Redmi Note 5 will be priced at $170 or Rs 10999 for the 32GB model and $200 or Rs 12999 for the 64GB one.
